How we remain unbiased
At AgentAdvisor, we’re not tied to any agent, agency or franchise. Our only goal is to help you choose the best agent for your sale.
Here’s how we stay independent:
No agent can pay to be recommended
We don’t sell advertising, subscriptions or placement. Agents can’t pay to appear in your shortlist or influence the result.
Shortlisting is based on performance
We score agents on things that matter:
Local sales history
Average sale price
Total sales volume
Current listings
Recent vendor reviews
Every agent is assessed using the same process. No shortcuts, no favourites.
Interviews with the top options
Together, we choose 2–3 agents from the shortlist to interview. We ask consistent, tailored questions and record each interview. You receive a report comparing the agents side by side.
You choose the agent you’re most comfortable with based on the data and our recommendation, not a sales pitch.
Your details stay private
Agents don’t receive your name, phone number or property address until you’ve reviewed our complete report, interviews and selected your preferred agent.
Our fee model doesn’t change the outcome
We offer two ways to pay for our service:
Agent paid (Pay on Sale): The agent you appoint pays us an industry standard 20% (incl. GST) of the commission when your property sells.
Homeowner Paid: You pay a fixed fee, the agent is not charged anything.
In both cases, the process stays the same and the fee structure doesn’t change who we recommend.
No conflict of interest
We don’t recommend the same agent for different properties. Agents we have appointed previously are subject to the same scrutiny as everyone else. We make recommendations but ultimately the decision rests with you the homeowner.
It’s important to note that an agent previously used for a 1-bedroom apartment will unlikely be shortlisted for a more substantial property and vice a versa. Agents generally specialise in certain types of properties and sales, and we like to ensure we are shortlisting agents whose strength lies in selling the property you have on offer.
Our fee model is clear and open. For homeowners using pay on sale, the fee we charge agents is not varied. Meaning each agent is paying us a consistent rate if they receive the business, ensuring that we remain impartial and focussed on getting you the best agent for the job.
